| Member | Hi guys, I was just reading something on another forum about TomTom 7 on WinCE 4.2 devices and a possible fix...anybody with a WinCE 4.2 device feel like being a guinea pig!! LOL! In you ttnavigator.bif file you should see this :- [TomTom NAVIGATOR] DeviceName=CUSTOM INFORMATION DeviceVersionHW=Windows CE 5.0 DeviceSerialNumber=******************************* * DeviceUniqueID=********** ApplicationVersion=7450 ApplicationBuildNumber=9028 Can someone change the line in theirs using a text editor to read "DeviceVersionHW=Windows CE 4.2" and let me know if that solves the problem of the maps not being seen please.(make sure you create a backup of the file first of course!!) ; ) Regards Brian Bradnell |

| Member | Puca I'm thinking it may be like a registry edit, where you've got to soft reset and then hard reset to get the changes to remain permanent. Can you also tell me where on your device ttnavigator.bif is installed please?? Is it just in the root, or do you have TomTom 7 installed on an SD like I do?? Cheers Brian P.S. Does it stay Read only after a hard reset?? |

Ok Puca, Believe it or not that's actually a good sign!! LOL! Now the last step, can you use your TT7 keygen to regenerate a new .DCT file please. and then place the new .DCT and original .META back in your map folder please. Hopefully, this should do the trick!! (Fingers Crossed!!) By the way, which map are you using?? Cheers Brian

Sorry Puca, I was sure that would work for ya!! Bugger!! You did do a soft and hard reset after putting the .DCT & .META back in the map folder?!?! Sorry if you didn't...I forgot to mention that!! Are you just using the TT7_Keyegen.exe or another keygen?? Apparently they're having mixed results with this method, works on some but not for all. Cheers Brian P.S. maybe just for kicks try taking out the v6 map...i remember reading something about those not working with this new PNA patch?? (v7 map is a fair bit better out here anyway!!) =)

| Junior Member | From another forum and trying it myself you probably need the file note_prj.dll to be located in the TomTom directory. Having this file finds the map if I put it in the root of the SD card or in a My Directory of the SD card. The unit has not had a registry hack. I got the file from Igo8 which I am also using but if you Google it you can get it. The GPS unit is a Tevion P310. I intend to try TomTom on a WinCE model later today. |

Enviro, The 3 units I have installed TomTom 7 on are all Tevion P310's, which is a WinCE5 device not WinCE 4.2, and should not require any .DLL's or registry hacks to work. On the 3 Tevions i updated, all that was required besides the original TomTom 7 Repack 3 cab, was the PNA Patched .exe I never experienced any no maps found error. Regards Brian

| Junior Member | Tom Tom 7 How to This download has been tested on a Navsoon 3667 and a Tevion P310 GPS units. The Tevion was set up to run from the SD card and therefore both units ran TomTom 7 from a SD card. Both units run WinCE 5.0. Please note that occasionally a memory error comes up but re-running the program usually solves this. If not, reinstall. The How to is based on the Australia map being present but other maps can be substituted. The map sub directory can reside in either the root directory of the SD card or in a My Documents sub directory in the root of the SD card. The file Note_prj.dll under the TomTom sub directory will find the map in either or both the root or My Documents sub directory. The root of the SD card contains Sub directories: My Documents TomTom Files: Shell.ini (required for the Navsoon) ttnavigator.bif (generated when TomTom is first run) The How to can be downloaded from: RapidShare: Easy Filehosting or http://netload.in/datei8bc36b3e4c4f.../TomTom.rar.htm Look at this site for How to’s on different GPS programs and how different GPS units operate: Navsoon - WinCE :: View Forum - How To's Also look at this site for a range of GPS issues Navsoon - WinCE :: Index Enjoy! |

| Senior Member | Okay I have downloaded and installed the Repack3_VGA option onto a HP IPAQ via SD card. Run the keygen and fixed the map. Placed the map into SD card directory called australia. Also placed a copy into the root directory. When running TomTom it asked for configuration parameters then it errors now with unable to start insufficient memory. Have about 44MB free (All programs shutdown). Anyone able to run on HP IPAQ? Other thoughts etc |

| Member | Yea the memory issue is a known problem on some devices. Try this: As you start TT, tap and hold somewhere on the screen...doesnt matter where...just tap and hold something against the screen as TT starts...this seems to be a strange fix to some TT7 memory error messages. |

Either ya DCT file is wrong or ya map is corrupted.. Have done a few now and had memory problems with the first two until I got the process right. 1: Do ya install but do not include your map :-) 2: It will exit as part of you install with a no map error. 3: generate your correct dct file and copy the lot into the Australia folder. 4: insert ya card 5: start up ya IPAQ and then it should be all sailing. Let me know.

If ya using 675.1431 then you ned a TT6 key gen and it will look at the map pna file and generate you a code... Not sure how you use a TT7 keygen on a 6 version map No maps found can mean a number of things but usually the australia.pna file is missing or corrupt. Then again, I could have missed part of this thread and be off topic... Feel free to shoot me ![]()
