Samsung F8 46' 1080p panel
then the M8 46' a close second
Be aware Bravias have deinterlacing issues and you WILL see interlaced combing on the screen sometimes even if your material is 1080p

I went through over 1 dozen models in 6 months and the Samsung f8 was the best of the bunch. Truer blacks, much more accurate colour gradation, 25k:1 constrast (you CAN tell.. ).
Dont listen to the motion plus whiners, becase the issue on the most part is sorted and you shouldnt run 100hz on 24p material anyway.
I cant fault it on my PS3 or SD DVD player

best advice, don't worry about how good the best stuff like blueray DVD and animation DVD's and HD TV looks on them. It should all look great. But look at how good the bad signal looks on them, SD TV broadcast standard foxtel or austar is very ordinary and unfortunately it will make up most of your TV viewing for the time being.

F8 is a part of the model. Depending on the screen size the model will change, obviously.
Consider F8 as a revision number (it's newest afaik).
I read a lot of positive reviews on the F8 TV performance with computers as well.

Samsung all the way just make sure if you get a plasma (YUK) its a 1080i if you buy LCD it is 1080p as standard and good for the life of what we can give it ATM.

I bought the Panasonic Viera 106cm (42") 1920x1080P and I've found the picture on this brilliant and this model is made in Japan. Cost me $1999 so the price was excellent as well. 3 HDMI inputs plus all the other array of inputs as would be expected with a Plasma panel.

Whatever The Panel...

BluRay <-------Best Quality.
HD TV <-------Damn Good Quality.
DVD <---------Pretty Good/Damn Good Quality.
SD TV<--------Pretty Good Quality.
Foxtel Sat<----Average Quality
Select TV <----Average Quality
Foxtel Cable<--Crap Quality on any TV.
Analogue TV<--Even Crappier Quality on any TV.

Well thats my experience anyway.

Walk into any outlet and Panasonic looks the best.... IMO.

Just had my plasma replaced by Philips under warranty with a nice brand spanking 106cm 1080p lcd and it is brilliant. The model is 42PFL5603D. 3 year warranty from new (i miss out on that and get balance of warranty on the plasma), plenty of hdmi inputs, sounds great even with the inbuilt speakers and built in hd tuner. Not too sure on the price.

The tip for the sd and lower quality signals is to reduce the sharpness back to a very low level and turn up the noise reduction to max. The result isnt perfect but at least its a hugh improvement.

Oh and after viewing both Panasonic plasma and lcd, im not too impressed. They were models that i was looking to buy but was turned off after family bought them and i was disappointed at the quality.
