Dont panic... it will be an easy fix.
One of us just has to give you the right bit to setup.
Did you find the file Data.zip?

I did as you suggested. If I copy the extracted file to the SD card, when I select the application I get the message "Program application database cannot be found" . If I copy the extracted file from the Igo8 step onwards ( without the iGo8.3.4.xxxxxMay 2010)the Gps turns off as it did before.

using my version add this(or replace if its already there) on the sys.txt:

    [folders]
    ;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

note SDCRARD should be the correct path or what your device call your CARD

if it didnt work remove % entry and try again:

    [folders]
    ;app="SDCARD/iGO8"

make sure you only have one IGO version(folder) on your Sdcard

    Hi Kukuk,
The line ;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8" was there, so I deleted the percentage symbol. no good I still get the message "Program application database cannot be found"

    To Bazzle01.
I found the data.zip file. I see that it is still in a compressed form is this normal as I unzipped the original download. There is also another file called branding in the same form . Can the GPS read these files in their compressed form

Leave it and any other files zipped within IGO.
IGO unzips them when it reads the data.

    HI All,
I think SDcard is the correct path. As the line app="%SDCARD%/iGO8" is in the Sys.txt of the old version which works.
    Thanks for all your help,

    Hi Kukuk,
No, still not working. When I turn on the GPS I go to the Nav. setup this shows all the applications on the Sd card. (Oziexplorer, music and Igo8 etc) When I select Igo8 it shows all the associated files and then I select Igo8 exe. The program starts to load and then the GPS just turns itself off. So the gps recognises the program but something is just not compatible.

    Hi Antboy,
I could not do as you said, There was not a line for the resolution in the new version.
To KUkuk, I replaced the new version Igo8 sys.txt with your one above, but still no luck , just the same. The Gps still turns off.
I will have to leave this problem for a week as I have to go away . Please don't forget about me and I really do appreciate everyones help.

Have had hollowmans igo8 running on ce 4.2 with 64MB RAM. But failed to get it going on a similar unit with ce 4.2 and 32MB RAM. what's your ram? CPU speed?
Tell us about the GPS OS as well, is it YF, YG, or some other breed? YF menus are easy to manipulate and you can shut them down to free up more memory to run iGO .

Also could have issues with old firmware or missing dll's try installing miopocket, then go into ce and edit the registry to stop miopocket booting(you only want the dll's it supplies) miopocket is good but will choke your system without 128MB RAM.
Now that I think about it, this was how I got iGO8 up and running on a ce 4.2 unit!

    Default DataBase cannot be found

Hi, please i need some help
I am also using a chinese 7" Double Din and cannot get iGO8.3.4.142975 to work. Just keep getting message "Program Database cannot be found" I used the full download from a few posts up, and also kept getting the same message on my Chinese 4.3" PNA. After playing around with the SYS text i eventually got it to launch on the 4.3" PNA. I needed to change the SD Card name to "SDMEM" and also had to take out the % signs. So now it is working 100%.
What do i need to change in the system .TXT in order for it to launch on the 7" Unit?? I also have Polnav 6 and Sygic 10 working 100% on the same 7" Double Din Unit. I did also delete the Save Folder to see if that was perhaps causing the problem, but, no luck.
This is my Sys Text that works on the 4.3"

    [project]
