    Eddie,

    is your 7" unit runs wince5?

    try deleting this lines on your sys.txt:

    [project]
    name="igo8_pda"

    [folders]
    app="SDMEM/iGO8"

    Kukuk, thanks for the rapid response. Yes, the unit is wince5. I will try removing those lines and let you know the result.

    delete sys.txt completely, delete inside SAVE folder then start igo..let the program create its own sys.txt

    Hi Kukuk, i will try and do what you are telling me and get back to you. The problem is that you are approx 10 hours ahead of me in South Africa, so by the time i get home from work and do the changes on iGO, you are sleeping, but i will send you the result as soon as i can.
    Regards, Eddie

    Hi Kukuk, can you re-upload the file again? It is gone in rapidshare. Maybe you can change the name of it.

    Thanks!

    LE:
    fixed with this lines in primo

    [folders]
    has_secondary_root=1
    secondary_root="MemoryStick\primo"
    app="Mounted Volume\primo"
    content="Mounted Volume\primo\content"
    sdcardpath="\MemoryStick\primo"

    Default Need multi resolution data.zip to handle 480_234 screens for iGo8 8.3.4

    I am very new to this, so I hope I am doing this ok. I have a Chinese 7" GPS which I am very happy with. This runs Igo8 lewys edition 8.0.0.49545. I want to upgrade my Australian maps. I downloaded the file Igo R3 v8.3.4.142975 (May 2010). I unzipped it and then coppied it to the SD card. When I try to run the application it trys to start but then turns the GPS unit off. My Gps has a WinCe 4.2 operating system.
    If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

    Gps Jeeper,
    I have similar problem with the all in one one DIN car unit.
    My unit does not shut down but says something to the effect of: "can not load the ui_iGO8_da/480_234/loading.bmp" and then it says exiting application with an OK button. Yours may have the same problem but it just shuts-down.
    The 480_234 is auto detected (reported by WinCE to the iGO)
    If you notice, the May 2010 download clearly says that it only supports two resolutions and 480x234 is not one of them.
    Your unit is 480x234 like a lot of them. Your old version 8.0.0 sys.txt proves it if you look at resolution or display settings in [interface]
    When you look at the folders inside you data.zip you will only see 320_240 and 480_272 folders.
    We need someone to upload data.zip that has the 480_234 folder inside it's ui_igo8 or ui_igo8_da folder. That should fix the problem with version 8.3.4 May 2010 running on the Chinese all-in-one DVD/GPS.... units.
    Mine is Innovatek IN-731GPS 7" unit with their GPS-88 box which is what houses the WinCE navigation. Windows CE reports screen resolution of 480x234

    I hope we can find a solution.

    Thanks again.

    to EddieK

    I had this error message before and got by when I added all the stuff below. I did it all at once so am not sure which are required but collectively these additions got it past the "applcation database not found issue

    all the root stuff that wasn't in the above link (.dll's)
    replaced with sys.txt with the one from china
    tts_loq folder
    device.nng into license folder (I think it will build this for you and isn't needed)

    content folder items
    the US POI folders and 2.md5 to the POI folder
    a few of Scheme's to the Scheme folder
    dictionary.lang to the lang folder

    Please tell the rest of how you got it working?
    I have the same problem. I get the message on startup
    Failed to open file: ui_igo8\480_324\loading.bmp
    then the unit turns off

    A quick edit. Bazzle01 data file fixed my problem.
    Thanks mate

    Bazzle,
    I am trying to get text to speech Kate to work and notice you have some sys.txt settings in the TTS section and some in the Debug section. Also you have some possibly important values in "quotes". Are quotes needed and does the sys.txt section they are in matter.
    Thanks

    Hi Plough,
    I tried so many things over about a month that it is hard to remember everything. But the last things I did was to replace the data zip file with the download above and then replaced the Sys txt. with the one above and it worked.
    Thanks Bazzle for the link.
    To Kirribili, I had the same problem getting the TTs to work with the Navngo download but I solved it by using the files from an earlier version of Igo8. I hope this helps.
