    Default Iphone 3GS Help :)

I got this 3GS and she has been messed with real bad LOL

What i can get out of the owners is there kid tried to Jail Break it with RedSnow9.11b4 ( well that was the program they gave me on a USB stick )

He said he stopped it half way through the JB process as it was frozen

So now when you turn it on it just sits on the Apple Logo for days LOL

So I ran the RedSnow program again to try and JB again and it just comes up with errors on the phone

So I tried RedSnow " Just Boot" as it must be tethered and she actually fires up to a normal looking Iphone BUT when you look at the IMEI its not there under settings LOL
    And Modem Firmware is Blank

I have downloaded 2 IPSW's and Itunes wont install them

    Under Settings

    Model MC134X
    Version 5.1 (9B176)

The two IPSW's that i downloaded are

    iPhone2,1_5.1.1_9B206_Restore.ipsw
    iPhone2,1_5.1_9B176_Restore.ipsw

Any ideas you could throw at me would be great

Have you tried restoring with ifaith? ifaith has the ability to stitch shsh blobs and firmware of your choice (depending on baseband).

Thanks guys but I think my Problem is something like what this guy said

    2011 8GB 3GS newer than wk 28 & 16GB/32GB 3GS newer than wk 35 BRICK ON IPAD BB.

    Team--

Since a lot of people are running into this, I'm going to make a post and sticky it to the top of the forum:

If you have a NEW 16GB/32GB 3GS that was made after week 35 of 2011 OR a NEW 8GB 3GS made after week 28 of 2011, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH THE 06.15.00 BASEBAND -- YOU WILL BRICK THE BASEBAND PERMANENTLY and will need to have the phone repaired or replaced.

Apple made a hardware change to the 3GS in 2011, and the newest models (made after week 35 of 2011 for 16/32GB and made after week 28 of 2011, check your S/N to determine the week yours was made) have a new baseband chip that is NOT compatible with the 06.15.00 baseband, and if you flash the 06.15.00 baseband, your IMEI will disappear, WiFi/MAC will be blank, and your baseband will be completely non-functional.

In short, DO NOT UPGRADE TO 06.15.00 TO UNLOCK IF YOU HAVE A 16GB/32GB 3GS MADE AFTER WEEK 35 OF 2011, OR IF YOU HAVE AN 8GB 3GS MADE AFTER WEEK 28 of 2011!

    Got it from here

Now to translate into English so I can understand it LOL

If it is flashed with the ipad firmware, you'll still be able to use it, except for the gps and reception will drop in and out.

Have you ticjked the ipad bb option in red snow, before jailbreaking it

Mate, I had a similar experience. You can read about it here :

From memory, the only way to use a workable ipsw in these painful circumstances is to create a custom ipsw. I think sn0wbreeze was the program I used to create a custom ipsw.
