| Member | Hi ozchips. I have a viewty also. best thing about it is the UI is flash, so hackers have made dozens of new and improved UIs, or 'themes'. This has led to a large hacking scene. and you seem to be proficient enough to follow some of there tutes. Anyway, anything I have ever needed for my viewty I have found at the forums over at MyGreatPhone.com presents KU990.co.uk | Home | LG KU990 Viewty, T-Mobile KU990 Viewty, 3 Three, u990 Viewty |

mate , to be honest I really like the phone i am a big samsung phone fan , but I went for the viewty as it was such a good deal ($29) cap from 3 and crazy johns . I went with crazy johns , since the staff at 3 did not give a **** at all . but 3 do have the slightly better deal. Ok issues , took me a while to get used to the touch screen , but it does work very well (made more sense after I actually bothered to read the manual) . the camera is 5 megapixels , but the photos do not seem to be of that standard . The video of the phone is very good up to 130 fps which is excellent . it does seem very solid for a touch screen phone , it seems a lot more solid than the iphone . the stylus hanging off a bit of string is a bit strange , but you get used to it . I thought I would not need the stylus , but it is very bloody handy the real probelm I have is the lack of apps for it , my old D600 had plenty , but this seems to have very few available (so far) the only one thing that reallly pisses me off is that it goes into a standby mode if you do not do anything for 10 or 15 seconds , meaning you have to hit the unlock key on the side all the time , this really annoys the shit out of me and I am yet to figure out how to fix this lol the things I like , well it is easy to customise , you can get software to change themes etc , but it is easy enough to do yourself (i did mine with full dr who stuff lol) I also like the handwriting recognition , I am an sms retard and hate the auto spelling shit , so it takes me ages to send an sms . it is bloody simple now , you can use handwriting in the stylus or a full qwerty keyboard all in all an excellent phone for the price , I would give it a solid 8/10 oh yeah it does not have gps , which seems to be a big selling point on phones these days , but personally it does bother me as i think gps is a toss anyway , just use a bloody referdex I reckon , more accurate too lol | |

| Member | Ozchips, this phone will run java J2ME apps. They don't have to be touchscreen, the phone detects that and puts up a little navigation pane at the bottom of the screen. As far as screen size/resolution etc.fitting to the phone- i found many comments on the above mentioned forum saying if you download a sony ericsson k800i (i think) version of any particular app, then it will work fine. You shouldn'thave any trouble finding free java apps out there, they are everywhere |
