| Member | I have a customer in New Zealand who semi-frequently travels to Australia and roams <cough gets screwed> on vodafone. I am looking for a way for them to sign up to a Mobile Data plan. However to get most of those plans you need to be a resident of Australia, proof of address and all that, and they don't have an office in Aus. Ideally I would like to sign up with a GSM provider, they give us a SIM card that we place into our device (either a Vodem, or Huawei E800) and then we go for it. In NZ we can pay mobile bills using a Credit Card, so I assume it is the same in Australia. Any suggestions on who is a good mobile broadband provider in Australia with good coverage in the CBD's of MLB & SYD. And how we could sign up for a mobile data plan being a non-resident. In fact we would probably sign up for a regular mobile voice and data plan so then they could use the sim in their phone (most phones in NZ aren't locked due to only having one GSM provider). They got hit with a $800 intl data bill over two days... OUCH!. So I am sure a 1GB plan for the whole year would cost less than that. Last edited by bartender : 09-08-08 at 06:37 PM. Reason: Typos |
