    Default the hunger games

i havnt read the books, i guess you are meant to have before seeing this but i never will now. holy f#ck this was a boring movie.
the acting is really good but the action is minimal.
i have seen the movie and i still have no clue as to why they sacrifice children in these games??
this movie is directly aimed at people who have read the books and anyone else is seriously just guessing at pretty much all of the background.

tried to watch it, got 40 min's into it.... (from memory its like 2+ hours long), just did not hold my interest.... too be honest I only watched it because of the girl that was in "Winter's Bone", critics were saying that performance was nothing compared to this one.... sorry did not see it myself...

might take a second viewing. edit: or a better copy

yea man i found the complete lack of story background made it impossible to get into any of the characters at all.
how can you sympathize with them when you have no idea why any of it is happening?

watched the last part of it. agreed, was difficult to feel anything for anyone. (not sure what the message was) when two win the game from the same district...*confused*

truth be told, a friend's daughter wanted to watch it, because @ school they are doing some book review (hope I have not helped, with out the girl READING the book....) I never had read the book, one would assume it must be better than the movie surely. I think I heard it was the 3rd highest opening weekend for a movie... so must be alot of people that know about the book(s)???

It's more Twilight generation drama. It was alright. I prefer grittier versions of this kind of story like The Running Man or [/i]Battle Royale[/i].
