AV Sender / Receiver question

Hi,

I've noticed AV Sender / Reciever units have gotten quite cheap lately.

I was wondering whether it is possible to get one that would stream from my computer to television? IE. I want to watch an AVI on my computer but have it transmitted to the television in the other room.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

yep
as long as your computers got the correct outputs....
ud need a composite output for video and probably a covertor for your audio...

any chance i can be daft and ask for more info on the outputs? Guessing that composite should be an output form video card?

The audio works straight from the line out on your sound card( 3.5mm stereo plug/PC to 2 RCA Males/Video Sender)
As for the video you may have a S video socket on your video card/PC, in which case you should have been supplied with your video card an adaptor cable, S Video to composite( Small multi pinned male plug to a Yellow Male RCA plug)

I think i do s video (there is a TV-OUT round socket with a rectangular white socket next to it) thats it right??

the white one is dvi, forget that one.
The other one sounds good, plug it into a tv, video in/tv, see how it goes.
You may have to go into your display properties, advanced and select tv.

I have 2 video senders running here.
I used to use my video sender to send mp3s to my big stereo in the other room, they can be used for all sorts of stuff.

jus becaureful with the frequency operating range when buying if you have a wireless phone at home. Allot of them operate on the same frequency and clash. eg 1.4GHz. so check your phone specs and av sender specs and make sure they dnt coincide b4 buying.

most cordlesses are 2.4ghz
some are 5.8ghz
most video senders are 2.4ghz
some are 5.8ghz
wifi is 2.4ghz too
the acma has really fu**ed this one up.

and the kitchen microwave puts out interference at 2.4GHz as well...

These units, although only short range, are not secure. So if your neighbour happens to have a unit on the same frequency and channel and is within range, he/she will be able to see and hear what you are transmitting via the video sender.

If you have a Xbox 360 not sure about Ps3 u can stream it via cat5e cable be able to access every thing on your pc and u dont have to disconnect audio from your sound card or have the movie running on your pc, but if not and your tv has VGA in (PC) you could get a VGA Splitter run that to your Tv (Better Picture) No Interference...
