Am trying to obtain extra ports from my cable router
Did as was suggested in a thread, removed one cable from the back of my 3 out let Billion and hooked up my old Dlink to an outlet, works but now the computer is as slow as
Question would a simple switch be any faster if set up similarily?

should be the same, with or without the dlink unless its a 10Mb one.
Do some ping tests and check lag times.
Also if you have just put new pc's on the network chances are they are sucking bandwidth with updates.
