Default Dlink DI-624S + USB Hard Drive

HI, I have a DI-624S Storage router and have set everything up, but I can't seem to get the USB HDD to show in the setup. I have tried 2 different USB Hard Drives but still no joy. Is there any type of hard drive that is required for this or should any USB HDD worK?

I have 2x USB enclosures (2.5") 1st is 160GB, the Other 40GB.

thanks for any advice.

If the external drives are formated as NTFS the DI-624S won't recognise them. In other words, they must be formated using Fat32

That works a treat now it is formated as Fat32.

Now I'm confronted with another problem...

I have setup the FTP access on the 624S, and I can access it internally (local are network) and externally I can access it and login with the username I have setup and it logs into the server but when it get to the LIST command to bring up the folders it goes no further.

Any idea on what need to be done to access it from the internet? Any ports need to be open?

thanks again for your assistance!!

Sorry, can't help you with that one. My only suggestion would be that the folders are named using the correct format (length and spaces)
