Default setting up wireless network

OK guys a m8 has his comp on adsl using a speedstream 4200 modem running through network card for the net he has got a second comp for his kids that he want to setup for net access what do we need is it just another network card and a wireless access point for the comp on the net and a wireless network card for the second comp he is a tight ass and wants it done as cheap as possible any ideas would be great thanks heaps

get a wireless router
then run a length of cat5e to his second computer or if he wants it via vialess just get a wirless network card for the second computer
should cost you about 80 for a wireless router and network card.

thanks for your reply urban can you give me a quick run down on how i would set that up with the router would be using a wirless card for second comp

thanks myf360f1 i know how to setup the network through windows just not sure on the hardware side of things what will work with what
so urban you are saying to get a wireless router and connect it to another network card in main computer and then plug the speedstream modem into the router do i have to setup the router or is it plug and play like the wireless access points

Inet -> speedstream modem -> Wifi Router -> Wifi PC and wired PC access through either speedstream or WiFi router as this have 4 ports as well

OK got it pretty easy if that is all there is to it connect modem to router then to PC thats sounds like the way to go now for the shopping anybody got a wireless router and a wireless pci card for sale then

Netgear is ezy as to setup ... just follow instructions .. its sets up all by running cd ..
