| Junior Member | G'day.. my uncles son wants to connect his ipod to their wired network using wifi. now the problem is my uncles net connection, its setup through a dlink modem, thats connected to a custom router through the company he works for so its been setup very sercure , plus they told him that only 2 computers can be connected so the custom router only has his laptop & desktop connected using their mac addys.. now i have a spare wrt54g laying round so thought i could use that for the ipod. i have 2 options to get it working: option 1: connect the wrt inbetween the desktop & the custom router then uncle has to request that they change the destop mac addy to the Wrt54g's mac address. option 2: i install a pci network card & plug wrt directlly into destop & configure it that way... what i want to know how to setup the wrt to share the net with ipod though wifi using option 2?? thanks for any info.. ![]() |

![]() | Can't you connect the wireless to the network port of the work modem? Unless it checks for Mac address or something. Then get a wireless card for your pc/lappy and your away. |
