Foxtel STB, Sat Dish, No Account

Hello All,

I'm quite new to this, but have enjoyed a legitimate Foxtel service at my parent's place for years. I happen to now have a completely brand new Foxtel kit, including the Pace STB, remote, cables, and even a card. I tried listing it for sale on *e*vil*bay*, but the listing was removed, so I obviously can't sell it. Then, another thought got to me. I live in a semi-detached townhouse now, and my previous neighbour had a Foxtel connection, and the dish is still there. I also happen to know the wiring is also still there in the roof. Now, my question is, I have access to the dish, I have a STB with all the accessories, and I even have a card.

What can I do?

I also happen to have a Foxtel IQ unit & remote, but no card. Any suggestions?

P.S. Don't ask me how I got all this stuff........but I do love visiting the odd garage sale and auction house.

Ring Foxtel.
They will hook you up.
Or are you trying to get free pay tv?

Unless its an active card , you cant do anything. Second hand Foxtel equipment is not really worth anything as there is very little use for it.

Was thinking about tapping into the pay TV service, but it's obviously not possible??

If you got a second box installed at your oldies (is it a sat install??) and you could take that box to your new place with the dish

OK, there's an idea.......so get a 2nd unit installed in at my folk's place, only paying for the service of an additional box, and then take that box to my own place, connect it to the dish there, and........Whalah! ????

Technically speaking the box remains the property of the provider, that's why eBay would have removed the listing.
