Default Humax IRCI-5400Z anygood?

g'day ppl

i just got this humax off my brotherinlaw. it comes with a decent size dish,
that i still got to remove off his roof, he was using it for pirate foxtel until they went digital so it still has a Gold credit type card in it is it possible to use it for FTA. i have no idea about anything related to how i setup this unit other from knowing i need to get dish in right position.
is there some place i can take it to for reprogramming or get cards or cams what ever those are, for it.

or should i just throw it away??

Not here on this forum.
Asking or even hinting will earn you an infraction, or your account could be banned. You've been warned, so leave it at that eh

Give a FTA Sat site a go KRINGLE......

vetrun is a good place to start for us Aussies

As for cards, gold, silver, emarald etc all work in that box. As for asking about cards here, pfft, thats just a great double standard, as everytime someone starts a thread called "Whitey has Stopped", it soon becomes a 10 page, 68,000 view thread in days.
Use your box for Select, Aurora, UBI, FTA, Multiple Sats, Feeds or just as a tuning tool.

Your Humax 5400Z is the most famous unit in the history of satellite tv although old technology and limited symbol rate and no blind scan, it's still a very good quality unit to use for the many available C band and KU band FTA channels out there, or as mentioned to you earlier put a Select TV card in it for about $29 or so per month,or buy a Motech H/H motorized mount for it (about $100 new) and that way you can grab over a dozen KU band satellites and a nice variety of FTA channels to watch, that's what i use my Humax 5400Z for and it's an interesting and fun hobby.

I'll take 2 infractions then...

assuming you get the same for both a 5400 & 5400Z

do you get 1/2 for any 5410Z's ??
(or a de-zedded 5410Z or is that now just a 5410 ??????)

Spot on Firebird, great old box, has a few power supply problems that are easily fixed, slow as a wet week loading.

But chit, ya just gotta luv em!.
