G'Day, I hope that you realise that if you move your dish (even though it is only 4 degrees), to D2, you will lose C1. There are other ways of doing this, but a little more complex. Lyngsat will give you all the TP info that you need. If not worried about losing C1, not much to change in the Strong. Make sure you mark the current position on the mast so that you can return to it. (only about 1/4 inch or so.) ![]() If you put one of these under your mast bracket, you will find it quite a lot easier to adjust your azimuth to D2, without it slipping down the mast. ![]() | It' just a U clamp. Most mounts these days tend to have a tag at the top to stop it slipping down the pole. As for direction, if you stand behind the dish you need to turn it to the left (we're only talking 4 or 5) and the elevation needs to go up a couple of degrees. Make sure you mark the Az and El positions before moving dish as pointed out above. When moving the dish have your TV in sight with your box set up with a transponder for D2 on the signal level screen so you can when it's tuned in. Have a look here at Optus D2 at 152.0°E - LyngSat for Duna's TP details. Have fun! Leroy Last edited by LeroyPatrol : 03-10-08 at 01:44 PM. Reason: added link |

It's just a common mast clamp. Should be available at any Sat Shop or electronics store. If you put that on the mast hard up against your dish bracket, it will stop the dish slipping down the mast as you swing it to a new Sat. Otherwise you will be looking for an extra pair of hands. Standing behind the dish D2 is to the left (West) of C1. Just move a fraction at a time, otherwise you'll go right past it. You'll need a Sat Meter or someone watching the TV for an increase in signal and then lock. You must have the Strong on a valid TP, preferrably one that is not also on other Sats. You will then have to do a Satellite Scan for the stations. Kindest Regards, " The Druid "..... ![]() | |
