Default Mediastar PVR820

Unfortunately, I can probably guess the answer but I'll ask anyway...

Is there anything at all that can done, firmware or otherwise, that will let my Mediastar pvr820 recognise a white card?

By not recognising,do you mean in the CA card status menu not showing it or it just shows E30 not valid card.If not in Ca menu then as silly as it sounds, the card may be the wrong way up.If its showing in CA menu with regular details for these cards then you might have to wait a bit longer for provision to come through.Lately they have been a bit touchie, and from my use of this box lately, you should try turn off the unit, restart it without the card in,then wait till the unit on one of the correct channels tells you "valid smart card required" ,press ok to get the screen blank, then put in the card and wait.Try also the reverse, just a cold restart with card in.Good luck.
