| Junior Member | Just wondering if there is a guide on how to do this on the foxtel dish and if there is anything i need to look out for when swapping it for a twin\dual lnb? Do i need to worry about the weight of the lnb and the arm sagging? Does the lnb need to be pointing a certain way\degree? Still all new to this and any info on this would be appreciated! |

(The standard Foxtel LNB (for iQ) is dual) Yes, the position of the LNB is important and idealy should be aligned with a meter, however, if you angle it the same as the existing LNB (about the 7 0'clock position as viewed from the front of the dish) it should be fairly close. |

| Junior Member | does IQ use the same dish as just the standard digital one? what are some signs that the lnb isnt pointing towards the dish correctly? some channels not working or all channels? not entirely sure how the lnb is secured at this point.. is it easy to remove and position? do i face the risk of moving the dish accidently when replacing the lnb? thanks mtv |

![]() | if moved no signal swapping depends on person doing job how long dish has been up (rust corrosion) crc screws to be loosened so they are free and you dont jerk rest of set up out of alighment put paint over all other joins so it will be easy to see if moved mark lnb and holder with something so tou can reinsall if you stuff it up |

Just dont lean on it or knock it, just in case. If the LNB is not aligned correctly, you may lose reception and/or signal strength may look ok, but signal quality may be low. The only adjustment you will have is rotating the LNB. You will need to remove the two screws that clamp the two halves of the LNB holder and also remove, or loosen sufficiently, the bolt that attaches the holder to the arm. It will be quite obvious when you look at it. Fitting the new LNB is just the reverse of removing the old one. As mentioned, it's a good idea to mark the existing LNB & holder to go back if you need to. |

![]() | Strange, if you are going to an IQ box wouldn't one of thier Techies supply the box and change the LNB to a twin 10700?

![]() | You can use your Strong for free to air tv (although very little on C1) or get an Aurora card for the country channels or the hard to get white card with the lot. Your Poxtel card is married to the box you have there even if you took it to some one else house and stuck it in another Poxtell box it would not work. But to get back to the LNB it is very easy to do and as C1 is the really strong signal it will be cool, one little tip is, make sure both boxes are off when you are connecting the cable as if the LNB gets shorted to earth it may die.

NO........Do the Aurora cards and white cards also have to be "married" to the strong box? YES......can they be moved around? Last edited by beer4life : 15-10-08 at 02:47 PM. Reason: Dumb question.

IQ requires a dual LNB for independent reception of vertical and horizontal transponders.
