![]() | Welcome! Have a read in the newbie section and it should give you an idea of what you can receive. Come back and ask more questions if you are unsure of something. If you have a dish then a receiver is all you need and it will cost you approx $100 for something decent. Happy reading....Leroy |

![]() | a humax is not a bad start because depending on how far you go with the 'hobby' they can be very handy in other situations other than just using as a STB for viewing Have a read in the Technical and Development section.I have found my Strong a great box for getting a handle on everything from aligning a dish, blind scanning/scanning in channels, setting up more than 1 dish etc..... and you could get a Select tv subscription to start with! ![]() | I can't remember the dish setup settings in a humax but lnb setting is one and lnb power should be on and set to single, no diseqc, no 22khz switch. Have a look on Lyngsat for the Aurora TP to scan in and have the network scan on setting. This will scan the entire aurora bouquet. Optus Aurora on Optus C1 at 156.0°E - LyngSat See how you go. ![]() | 8' dish sounds C band. Is it solid or mesh? What are your signal levels like with a Ku lnb? Just what the boys in QLD needed with the heavy rain.lol |

![]() | Solid=kick arse signal. Looks like you were unlucky, most dishes just spin around in the wind when the bolts are loose. Hope you havnt warped it. |

![]() | Oh yeah.....a whole lot. Its suppose to be perfect, it may not reflect straight bach to the lnb now. Place a string across from edge to edge on the rim of the dish. Then place another across at 90 degrees to the first. They should touch. If they dont things dont look good. |
