Default strong download probs

I have strong 4653x i am trying to upgrade my firmware to 1.20 . Ive downloaded the loader & software from strong site but cant seem to install it . when i click connect & switch on receiver it flashs ---- once then goes to 0001 . software hasnt changed when i connect back to tv . i have the instructions from strong site but receiver dont display =001 , =002 --- = 100 then 0000 . please can i have some advice what could i be doing wrong

Double check that you have downloaded the correct model including the "X" if yours is the X model.
If still no good you might have the wrong cable. Try a usb if you have 1.

The strong 4653x has a usb connector on the front so no cable ar loader is needed. By far the easiest way to upgrade firmware.
Simply load the firmware on the usb stick,insert stick in slot. Strong will pick up the usb memory...now go to menu....USB....Data transfer.....Highlight the firmware file and press ok.

i tried it that way crpto , when i press ok to start down load it dosnt move off 0%

How old is your Strong, recent boxes now utilise USB 2.0.
What USB version is your data stick.
Not all USB peripherals are forwards and backwards compatible.
The only fool proof method is a good null modem cable and the software available from the Strong Technologies site
