Default Wiifit + WiiKey = Works?

I have a Wiikey installed, bought a Wiifit and it's asking for an upgrade with a warning that a modified Wii maybe be rendered useless.

What's the go?

Hi Harry88, I assume you have the Aussie Wii Fit? If so there will be no dramas. If you've bought a US or Japanese Wii Fit set off ebay, YOU MUST download the latest firmware from the internet before you put the disc in. DO NOT install the firmware from the disc if it' a non-PAL version.

Aussie PAL kit from the shops works fine for me, I wasn't asked to upgrade firmware as I was already running 3.2E. I have Wiikey version 1.9s running.

I bought it from toy r us so it's PAL. Now I just need to check which versions I'm running. I need a config disc?

So:
1. I must have 1.9s installed, check with config disc
2. Install internet update not the one that comes with wiifit even it's PAL?

Anyone having any issues with wii fit loading on a console fitted with a wiifree? I often get the game freezeup on loading or the disk just spins on the disk channel screen. I cant only get it to boot up by switching the console off at the mains and trying numerous times. Usually takes betwwen 5 and 10 attempts for it to load up. Pal Wii latest firmaware, wiifree and Pal WiiFit.

It works with a Wii-free I did about 18 months ago before the Wii-key updates came out. That said I did have a lot of trouble geting the wii to update off the disk. I ended up updating off the net first, then wii fit still wanted to update on that....but then it worked fine.

Was someones I did a a wiifreeby as in freeby next door to me...

Update, they are still having trouble with it, going to put a wii-key in it...doing a bit of research it looks like wiifree does not like wiifit...even the originals
