generic sata driver for Vista

Anybody?Vista lookin for driver new instal vista ultimate onto system all sata dvdrw,hdd 120gb sata, no ide, floppy yes.New install ,wont go?Driver needed?
Bios id,all sata drives,yes.dvdrw sata,hdd sata,yes! something generic to fit 1.4mb floppy to get past this?
No dont have the Motherboard Drivers for vista just yet for this board.its a Gigabyte for AMD ,am2 all in one for AMD X2 running 4000+ X2,proccessor,2gb ddr2.
No its not a Proprietry/brandname system,just OEM type.
Quick fix Anyone Cheer! Thanks!

Normally Vista would have the required drivers built in.

Have a look around the Intel site for AHCI drivers for the chipset your motherboard uses ie IntelÂ® Matrix Storage ManagerÂ*RAID/AHCI Software - IntelÂ® Matrix Storage Manager

or you can use the IDE mode for the SATA drive and not require any additional drivers, in the bios you should be able to select ide mode, it may have a different name, but not SATA or RAID.

Yeh,Ok! Have no ide drives! try ide mode bios,no go,on Vista ultimate new install,driver required.BTway sata drives still id,ok in bios.
Vista New install still need drivers?Intel AHCI drivers come up as Not in Compat.drivers or Browse ,Nothing comp. or suitable an blank.Jeez! its only a small file an vista instal spits it!!

I had a similar problem with a new comp I built some time back but all I did was plugged in an IDE dvd rom and it booted from it , when everything was up and running just unplugged IDE and went back too sata , not sure if your motherboard has IDE or is it all sata ???

Are you building a RAID setup?

Have you told the BIOS which SATA port the boot drive is attached to?
