Default Tiny XP

Just thought I would start a new thread on Tiny XP. I have noticed there are a few version out there of this cut down windows XP. Just to let you know how cut down some of them are you can run winxp on a 40meg 150HDD. I am running Plat sp2 version on a 267mhz 128meg 3gig harddrive and it runs like win98se did. Very impressed. I'm also running 2 wifi's with no problem.

The beast version was cut down a bit too much for me, would not run the 2 wifi's.

If you are looking to lunch some new life into your old laptop then grab a copy of Tiny xp if you can find it.. Emule is a good start.

I have gone back to winxp beast edition. But now I have a problem. Once I worked out how to install my pcmica card (as no drivers installed) I have found that through my router I can access the internet with beast computer and also ping every computer with netscan.exe But I can not see the beast tinyxp on the network. Its like TinyXP has a firewall but I can't find one anywhere? Any ideas?

i spent a few weeks in 2006 trying to trace the reason VNC (ultra, real, tight) doesn't work in beast edition - i suspected a required service has been removed

nearly gave up until i RTFM - well the nfo anyways - attached the info

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

worked for me and it'll hopefully work for you

another nice cutdown version XP is microXP which is damn small

regards...

Cool, I didn't know about this..

Might chuck it on a USB drive and have a play.

This would be great for a MAME PC as well.

Anyone know of a stripped version of XP that still has PCMCIA support?

Hi Guys,
I am using Beast Edition on my MAME cabinet and found things such as the windows installer program missing which made it IMPOSSIBLE to install anything, then found it was just a case of going into services and turning it back on. But I find it really hard to get anything to work as far as networking so I am currently downloading Rev.6 so I will see how that goes.

Simon.
