| Member | Hi guys, just got a new computer. Its in Chinese however (every text on the screen is in chinese and the typing comes out in english. Can someone guide me to help changing it back to English, I've done a few things to try change it back to English but no success. thanks guys!. |

![]() | I have had a couple of laptops with this, where they have sold then to shops and if I remember right I had to change the bios to English or do a update of the bios (for English version ) Then reload windows ![]() cheers

| galleries.wickedweasel.co | umm there are chinese versions of XP around... my guess is that a chinese version was installed if this is how it came.... the only way I can think of fixing this is installing an english version doesnt sound like you bought windows xp with your 'puter and it was just loaded on there LOL |

![]() | See if you have muisetup.exe (Multilingual User Interface) on the laptop, if so run it and see if you can select or add English that way. You may need some Xp disks though. Have not used it myself but it exists on the PC here. Frequently Asked Questions: Windows Server 2003, Windows XP & Windows 2000 MUI |

![]() | Depending on your motherboard or computer manufacturer you may be able to reset the bios by pin jumper shorting or even cmos battery removal or backdoor passwords eg How do I reset a BIOS password? or try Clearing the Bios or CMOS Password |
