| Super Moderator | It doesnt sound too good does it ? I have actually got Vista running so well on my laptop ( dual boot with XP ) that I have made Vista the default operating system ( finally ). It sounds like this update might make a mess of things.......can it be uninstalled as a program ? I will give it a try if I can take it off if necessary. |

![]() | Here are the drivers that SP1 has problems with... I suspect that it will just fail to install if it finds any of them. Microsoft comes clean on Vista SP1 driver and vLite issues - VISTA.BLORGE.com Quote:

| Super Moderator | Thats actually the full update with all the security patches and everything in it. I wouldn't be suprised if the XP ones are that big too. If you use update its around 68-75Mb (mine was something like 68mb) I havent had any problems but then again I dont use any of those drivers with my setup

| Member | I would highly recommend a scheduled weekly backup using Symantec backup system recovery, or Acronis, etc., especially if it was activated by utility. Doing a fresh install with x64 sp1 DVD, I made a mistake of running Symantec endpoint protection 11.0.780.1109, it installed ok, but ie7 kept crashing, my VMware networking was effected, etc. Updated it and no more IE7 crashes, VMware networking works, and whole system ‘feels’ faster. I wonder if installing the SP bloats the installation or if it integrates it permanently by not allowing it to be uninstalled from ‘program and features’. |
