Default Irdeto P/N 901275 Rev 1.0 upgrade to 2.26b

Hello Everyone,

I have an Irdeto cam P/N 901275 Rev 1.0 that I want to upgrade to 2.26b using the file from the following link
SmarDTV
I have upgraded a few 901275 Rev 1.1 cams with success but this Rev 1.0 gives the following error:

Module answered with error code = 90 01
Blocks send 5
Download prodedure failed

Has anyone had any success upgrading the Rev 1.0 cam?

TIA.......Leroy

Anyone ? The cam is mine and Leroy offered to flash it for me , but it seems there is a difference between revision 1.0 and 1.1. We are both curious as to why it wont upgrade and if anyone else has tried the same thing and whether they had any success or not.

Thanks in advance for any replies

Maybe it needs to have the 1.1 update put on before it will update to the latest firmware? However I have heard that those cams can only be updated once and thats it. Personally I dont know why they would limit the update to only once, but it could be done I suppose.

Unfortunately we had to give up on this as all options were exhausted. Many thanks to Leroy who went far beyond the call of a favour in trying to upgrade this cam.

Leroy....I'm not the boss anymore , thats why we arent getting replies
Thanks for your efforts I'll retire it to the sat cupboard , who knows it may work in the future.

If when you insert the CI card into the PCMCIA slot on the laptop and it is detected as a "PCMCIA-MTD-002" then the sofware will not work on that laptop without a CAM adapter ( what ever that is )

Working well in my Humax and Dream 7020 now.

I also tried a blue 901633 which would not work, does anyone know if the 901633 can be updated?

Thanks

This may or may not be relevant, but there might be some info here for you.

Unzip it and have a read. Your biggest challenge is finding a laptop that's happy with the cam that you can load the driver on.

Thanks Leroypatrol, I have read the pdf tried the cam in my laptop and seems I need a cam extender. Where do you get one of those and how much?

Find a laptop that doesn't require that extender board and you'll be right then.

Ok, I dug out my old Sony vio notebook and shoved the cam in and it recognised it Followed instructions and updated the cam. Tried it out in the Emtech200 and now whitey works like a charm

It's not guaranteed that type of reader would work with cams. I'd be looking at a good old laptop. You could be throwing $$$$ away.
