Let us know if you can transfer USB external drive with recordings to PC
and use PC to make DVD's from recordings.
Mainly interested in movies with AC-3 sound.

And also where you can buy?

I bought the DVB-S2 PCI Card - AD-SP400 from Digitalnow. Seems good now that i have my LNB issue sorted out. I havent tried recording anything yet and can only watch FTA at the moment until I get my card/softcam setup. The technisat Skystar 2 card looks the same as the AzureWave one and they are both based on the mantis chipset but I could not find a source to buy the skystar 2 from.

I bought the Azurewave AD-SP-400 DVB-S2 Card
Can only watch FTA on C1 I've got a Gamma compatible CAM
but it fails to properly descramble Austar. Cam is detected and detects
Smartcard with Twinhan DigitalTV 3.3 Software

My setup worked fine
with a Visionplus 1030A DVB-S with the same CAM and Twinhan DigitalTV 3.3

So I suspect it is the DVB-S2 cards driver that is the problem
as Progdvb and Mytheatre don't descramble Austar either.

The DVB-S2 scanned the Selectv channels in DigitalTV Intelsat 8
I manually entered the transponders.

12526 28800
12326 28800
12286 28800

The DVB-S2 scanned Selectv okay in ProgDVB though and ProgDVB Detects the CAM okay.
The DVB-S2 Card has a very sensitive tuner had to remove my inline amp as tuner was overloaded

Tried DigitalTV 3.4 with DVB-S2 works with FTA okay but with working Gamma
just get a Black screen no sound it tries to decrypt but doesn't succeed.

I'll try it with Selectv next to make sure the problem is Gamma or not.

Ive decided Im not ready to throw sat tv into my mce mix(yet), but if I did, I'd definitely get this kit

Dire DTV S2

or the PCI/PCI-e/FW internal version

both are vista and mce happy

looks like an awesome bit of kit. Ive read Oz users confirming they have a sucessful setup with austar and select tv.

Heres an installation guide/review >> nice pics
Original(Dutch)

Use the BabelFish translator >> to get a rough dutch to english translation >> not perfect but you get the gist

An English guide using the same kit but used for getting sky within MCE

cheers

Well with my DVB-S2 I can't view TVSN, EXPO or Help with the CI enabled
have to disable CI to get pictures in ProgDVB or Mytheatre.
They work okay in DigitalTV 3.4 though.

So I wonder if I have a dodgy CI card.

With Gamma on scrambled channels with DigitalTV ocassional the picture
changes to a garbled picture with green blocks and the CI status
is saying currently descrambled. Tried a different CAM same thing.

New DVB-S2 card same version of DigitalTV 3.3 and no go.

I asked about your os as I heard twinhan cards have CI problem in MCE.
If you can borrow a legit sub and test it, it will give a fair idea where the problem is.
I'd suspect it most likely the card drivers are not working correctly. Azurewave drivers are not bug free and that's how I got them to fix the problem with my card.
First I called their office and then when I got their development team in a loop I provided as many details of the problem via e-mail and DigitalTv3.4 was developed.
I found Azurewave service people are quite willing to help providing they are convinced the problem lies with their product.
Also I'd suggest you to try 2.09 CAM, it might work as it is older product and your card drivers might still support it.

I got the Azurewave AD-SP-400 DVB-S2 Card card to work with a gamma on Win XP with progdvb/mytheatre, wincsc and greywolf and phoenix. My 2.26 purple cam will arrive in the next few days and i can test the CI module when it does.

Progdvb doesnt really like wincsc though and everytime you change channel you have to disable and reenable wincsc as it doesnt work properly unless you do, under mytheatre it works fine but the trial version stops after and hour. Anyone got a full version?

I can't get wincsc to send emm's though, I have read it does in newcamd client mode which is the way I have it configured. Does anyone have wincsc or another progdvb/mytheatre plugin sending EMM's?

My 2.26D purple CAM and gamma with the twinhan DVB-S2 card also does not work so I don't think it is your hardware at fault. I only had a brief muck around when i got it but will try more later.

Satplus sell a TWINHAN 1034 SAT CI PCI CARD which is the previous version of the DVB-S2 on on their web site they say it has been tested with 2.21A and 2.26D Irdeto cams but I would say that is tested with proper subs not gammas.

Can you send me the link that says the 1034 has being tested with 2.26D CAM
as my TWINHAN 1034 SAT CI PCI CARD isn't recognising the 2.26D Smit CAM
and I went to complain to the supplier and they suggested buy a 2.21A CAM
which I don't think I should have to do. I think the cards CI-interface
is faulty because DigitalTV says CI-Slot Empty and Mytheatre
detects a CAM but says UNKnown CAM.

pheggie, the more I think about your setup the more I believe it is the card driver issue.
Talk to Azurewave support after you confirm the card doesn't work with legit sub.

I got the Twinhan 1034 DVB-S PCI CI Card to work with the purple Smit 2.26D CAM on another motherboard it uses the same driver as the DVB-S2 by name
and The Twinhan 1034 DVB-S isn't working with Gamma either.

I'll test with Selectv both the Twinhan DVB-S2 and DVB-S as soon as I get
my Selectv card.

I got the 1034 DVB-S CI to work with Gamma now by going back to very
early drivers TwinhanDTV 2.65 Build 01-02 it works in Mytheatre and Progdvb
with the purple 2.26D CAM with Gamma however these drivers won't support the DVB-S2
card they say no support after a reboot and running TwinhanDTV.

So Fromaron your right it's definitely a driver issue

Well hopefully the selecttv sub card DOES NOT work with the DVB-S2 card so that we can get twinhan working on the drivers, otherwise it will be a bit hard to get them to develop new drivers so that we can use gammas in a 2.26D purple cam on their cards
