You could try yourself first if you have a laptop. I have upgraded mine just cause I could. Why do you want to upgrade yours? Leroy

I don't think so. It's an upgrade for older cams. Read the readme file with the upgrade. Leroy

| Junior Member | Hi, I was hoping someone here would be able to help me out with some basic info. I have a purple irdeto cam (softcell 2.26D). It doesn't have a p/n number on the back, just a bar code with HAF180503095. I have tried updating this using a laptop and SmarTools cam updater. (camtools driver installs ok, but when using the updater, after selecting the file to upload when I go to select the "module" it is blank and the program crashes). This makes me think that perhaps it is not possible to flash this cam. I'm not sure that the SmarTools updater would have helped my anyway. What I was hoping to achieve was to downgrade from 2.26D to 2.26C or 2.26B. You see I have a set top box with inbuilt cam using 2.26C and it gets pics fine. But the purple cam I want to use in another device (fireDTV for HTPC), but it gets no pics. Am I wasting my time trying to flash this purple cam? I also have no idea where to find softcell 2.26 B/C. Cheers. |

I think I am wasting my time as well. My cam doesn't say smit on it - just says irdeto on the front. Oh well, time to buy a new cam. Preferrably one that can be reprogrammed if need be. Any recommendations?

![]() | not really. Prob a dreabox may be a better option. I've seen freecams working but don't know how well they go over days and weeks. Leroy |

You're right, a Dreambox is probably a good way to go... but I love my HTPC (running MediaPortal) - a lot more fiddling, but running all media from one box is very cool. Thanks anyway. xphoenix.
