    Default 980HD Cardshare receipt

    Hello again,

    Quick question please?

If I was to hypothetically testing my box to experiment with it's capabilities, and trying to setup my ultra to receive a cardshare from elsewhere, do I only need to configure this area?

I have looked within it's present plugins and I have these details.

    PLUGINs
    Mclient
When I go into this setting I have a menu to put in this info

    Client version 01
    Server address_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
    Port 4828
    User ID: dummy
    Password: dummy

Is this all is needed, or should I be downloading something else as well? All mine has with plugins is
    MCAS
    KEDITOR
    Mclient
Perhaps another plugin needs sourcing to test these areas?

If there is a nice known tutorial there, I'd be most appreciative of being provided with a dummy guide/link to read, as well as the second possibility of getting the box to also serve to another S9 Skybox afterwards.

I just have to keep experimenting with it, as otherwise my cobwebs just get thicker, and the box is seemingly being under used...I think.

    Thanks

There is a mgcamd plugin that you can use,

just have a newcamd.list file in the var/keys with the relevent info and have the cam autostart,

MCAS and MClient (which is loaded with the MCAS plugin) are used for LAN sharing or Home sharing.

To connect to connect to a server using the example settings above, you can use the MGcamd plugin as mentioned above or the XCamclient plugin. Xcamclient supports many different protocols including CCcam for the info above, Newcamd, and either can be used to connect to an oscam server.
You can edit/enter your CS details by running the Xcamconfigure plugin in the Plugin menu or you can FTP to /var/etc/xcamclient.conf using the login details
    username: root
    password: ultraplus

The line if it's newcamd for example
    newcamd:192.168.1.50:12000:0/090b/0:userassword:0102030405060708091011121314

If it's a cccam line edit the cccam2 line in the config file.

You then need to start the xcamclient plugin and you'll see a window popup with the connection status when you run this.

    Have fun!

Thanks...so the McClient is only good for own to own (homelink type) communications I take it, and the MGcamd plugin /or the XCamclient plugin is for receiving from an external server...have I got that right?

Lastly, I assume "one" just finds the MGcamd or XCamclient plugin applicable that is written for an Ultraplus 980 only, puts this onto a thumb drive, and assumingly loads that information into the plugins folder somehow?

I will go a searching...still fighting cobwebs, but have a thick brush to sweep some off...thank you.

    Ok,

Knobbled a copy from this post,

I see you say.."When you unzip the package you will see there is a plugin folder. Copy this to a usb memory stick and put it in your receiver. It will auto detect and prompt you to load the plugin. It's that easy!"

This procedure doesn't interupt/overwrite any other plugins that are running at the time does it, like MCAS etc?

    Just being cautious...

No. MGcamd can be used with any FW. What version firmware you running as Xcamclient is a little more firmware dependent now.

108.94 firmware and the MCAS from the 1.08.52 thread.
This is stable with my 5.4 austar card, so I can at least use it in my ultraplus after a bit of trial and error a while back...thus not wanting to upset it all.

I'll dig around then for the Xcamclient if you think that may be better

MGCamd should be fine. I haven't used it with the newer firmware versions. Try both
Use Xcamclient plugins up to dated May. Here is the MAY Xcamclient.

    I hate posing dumb questions..but...

I loaded MgCamd onto the Ultraplus, and then thought it would be when satrting that prog., that I would enter any necessary data there.

The program can only be changed ( as far as I can understand so far) via manual / auto start, but will not open to allow any data entry.

Am I supposed to notepad or something in the keys tab or similar?

You need to ftp to the box. Check out post #2

As mentioned above, you can configure the xcamclient by running the xcamconfigure plugin in the plugin menu. This might be an easier option for you.

    Default 980hd

you need to make a newcamd.list file just using a text editor,

then FTP to the box in the var/keys directory
