| Senior Member | Hey guys I have this customer's lappy it's a hp pavilion dv2000, apparently it started heating up and shutting down automatically, but now it's not turning on and all I get is 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps, the laptop stays on but no display at all, you can hear the dvd drive and the drive and the fan are all on though, I am suspecting it's a motherboard problem and more definite it's a video card problem, anyone has any other suggestions. P.S I removed ram, optical drive, HDD etc still get the same beep code. |

I took out the battery, the HDD, changed the ram, still nothing. the fan is working fine, you can hear the fan, the dvd drive and all the leds are working fine but no booting, no display even on an external screen. It did turn on once(don't ask me how) but never happened again. | |
