Default External hard drives

I took the hard drives out of 2 old computers that i was using as slaves, running XP,
bought 2 external enclousers independently powered and plugged them in via usb, formatted them but they will only register 122gb,(running Vista Ultimate) both being WD 250 gb ATA runing NTFS. Have been back thru properties as some posts suggest and checked but cannot find answer
I would be pleased if any one has an answer as now i look at prices for dedicated external drives and wonder if i did the right thinghttp://www.austech.info/images/smilies/frown.gif
regards Allover

How are you formatting the drives? Maybe a screen dumb of your method might help too.

Previously partitioned into 2 ? 122 is halfish the total.
Look at them under Drive management, or use a Partition manager to have a squiz.

Default firmware problem

I think the problem is in firmware. You are advised to get new firmware. You can get full technical details at
