Default Total Newb Here

Ok guys after seeking advice on what to buy, I have now puchased and am looking at putting my first computer together.

So here come the stupid questions.

The case has USB and Firewire ports on the front. Lucky me. I have found on the MBoard where the usb cable goes but unsure about the firewireone. It plugs nicely right next to the USB plug?? Is this right. (Photo 1)

Next, the case only comes with a single fan,(do I need another) and this fan already there comes with a non fan type connection (Photo 2)

Thanks in advance. If you need more info I will do my best to answer intelligently.

Thanks Phil, not wishing to sound stupid I of course read all the paperwork that came with it, as well as looking at whatever pic's were available. I do not consider myself stupid just unsure of the last few details. Hence why I posted the questions.

Thanks for your help though.

Anyone else?

maybe you should go back and ask the store that you purchased the parts from? sure they would help you out

goodluck

Not sure if you have kept a copy of my e-mails but I did thank you for your time, secondly in my first e-mail to you I did mention I would like to source locally to me. (ie here in Adelaide). I do not want to get into a sh(t storm here, and was actually asking for help with building my first PC in this thread.

You were a big help in getting me sorted with what I needed and I am thankful for your e-mails and advice.

Unfortunately this has still not answered my questions so I guess I'm no wiser yet.

Thanks mickc, I will look at the book again over the weekend.

Ok thanks guys. I have a combo PCI card that is has 4 x usb and 2 x Firewire ports.

Can I now ask another stupid question.

The case has a firewire port in the front but no firewire support on the mobo so I assume I can plug this onto the PCI card???

Guess I will have a look and see...

Anyway this post is coming from my new PC so I must have done something right.

Again thanks for all the advice, I can assure you I was very nervous switching it on for the first time
