how to setup a vpn on xp home

Hi guys i was wanting to know my mate lives in Macedon and i live in Melbourne and i was wanting to know if him and me can setup a vpn using xp and if we can how can we do it iv chide to set it up but im stuck on the ip part like what ip do i use off my mate he has adsl and i have dialup i am geting adsl to next week but just the ip im stuck on thanks.

create a dyndns ( free )account each and then use it as the ip

EG: alarm_system.dyndns.org

then when this address is typed it it will reslove back to the ip currently assigned to you.Then to make sure it keeps updated most modem/routers now have the ability for this to be added into it and will constantly update the address with dyndns should your ip change
