| Junior Member | if any can help me.i got this dell laptop. the drive has been split c drive and d drvie on d drive it has a file call factory.wim its about 4gb.so i back up the file and wipe everything off thinking 2 do a new install making i single c drive,but i cant seem too open this file,if any knows what progams or tools too open this file. |

![]() | It's just a factory re install of the os and all the crap dell stick on there vista computers ![]() You access it when the computer is booting up.

| Premium Member | Its a file from the windows imageing system, similar to ghost. been using it for a while now and hate it. But...you can boot a usb stick and load enough drivers to successfully read a DVD drive with a sata interface. Mscdex does not handle DVDRAM drives anymore.
