    Default Outlook Express Signatures

Ok, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed so I havn't been able to make this work. I must send an email which must bear my actual signature (scanned and embeded) but I can't make it work. Can it be done, if so could some kind person tell me how.

    Thanks

    MrR

    Hi MrR
The only way I have done it was to scan the document and attach the file to the email.
But I must let you know I am a blunt tool also.

Thought you could do that sort of stuff when the email was formatted as html.

In Outlook go to Options - Signature.
add where your scanned signature is located.
When you send emails just go to Insert - Add Signature

If you scan your signature in and save as a word doc, couldn't you just copy and paste the text (signature) to the email?
Or cut and paste it. It would mean more work that way but if it is only for a couple of docs then that should work.

    G'Day,
    Try this;
Scan your doc and save as an image file.
Then you can attach to email.
The "add signature" in OutLook Express is for Digital Signatures which need to be obtained.

Sorry Cobber, that does not work.
I even tried it and got:
This message has been rejected because it has
a potentially executable attachment "EPSON Scan.lnk"
This form of attachment has been used by
    recent viruses or other malware.
If you meant to send this file then please
package it up as a zip file and resend it.
I think it is the exe program itself.
That is for Digital Signatures which you must obtain.

    Definition here:

Works fine scanning in as an image file.

All this discussion because some clown at a banking institution in Sydney will only accept an instruction by email and will only act upon it if my actual signature which they have on file is embeded in the email ...... That's technology for you

I think it would be easier to change banks

My interest is in the adding of a signature via tools, options, signatures in the folders view. Digital sign is in tools in the create mail view .. two separate actions.

My interest is how to get the 1st mentioned to recognise a scanned sig as it wants a text input from my reading of it. I tried several variations in that view but each time the app deleted them prior to sending because they were not .txt format. I also tried putting a scanned image in the file option there but that was rejected too.

    G'Day again, If you try what I told you;
    My setup is:
Programs>Accessories>Scanner and camera wizard>Save to "My Pictures"> Open Outlook Express and Insert "Picture" along with message.
The image comes up in the body of the message. Not a problem.

Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".......

Thanks B4L, the size of the image was throwing me but I have worked out the resizing in Outlook Exp now and it's a goer, I will however scan a better sig later as it starts to look a bit tatty as it gets smaller.
    Thanks again
