Personally I'm a Windows 8 fan as well, however there are many corporate entities (and we are one of them) that haven't yet made the decision to ramp up.
All our servers have been upgraded but the stand alones, even for a small organisation such as ours, it's quite a job for a 3 man IT department to move over 300 PC's and laptops from 7 to 8
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

It's about choice and what I want WhiteOx - I have been using windows since the first dos disk install. M$ has totally lost the point of tablet versus desktop and younger users. I don't want a touch screen tablet for my business, I already have one using other software. My main use of PC's is business related (including non touch screen laptops) and Windows 8.1 does not really do it for me. Much the same with M$ office later suits (2010 onwards), you get what they think is good but in reality it is shit (365 etc).
So why should I have to buy a laptop with win8 on it, no way I will until W9 possibly comes out , just wish there was more longer term sotware alternatives that allow main stream apps for business and desktop use.

did another conversion last night win8.1 back to win7 Ultimate !
Two step process . . . .
1) Booted laptop with Linux Gpart CD disk and reformatted/partitioned 750gb hd back to ntfs
2) Removed Linux Gpart disk and rebooted with Win7 Ultimate install DVD disk!
Done!
