My mate was saying that the the IPhones are
only going to cost $200 for a 8 gig one and its not going to be locked to a
network either,does this sound TRUE ????

no pricing has been released in Oz, we'll all see come July 11. anyone offering price details before then is only speculating.
Previously relased version 1 iPhones are silver, (metal back) Version 2 will be available in black or white plastic back. Apple has all the facts and specs.

A $199 is what you will pay when its on a plan with a carrier.
You will not get one anywhere for that price!!!!!

To buy them outright in the USA is $520 and $760 Unlocked
I've heard vodafone could be selling them for $400 outright
I would wait to see what happens....

an extra $240.00 to unlock a phone pfft
i,ll do em for 50 bucks what a con
i got mine from the the states delivered to the door for $450.00 aus
takes like 30 seconds to unlock em and load the latest firmware into them
