    Default Unable to copy DVD

    Hi all,

I have been copying DVD's for a while then today for no apparent reason I was unable to copy anything as the PC is saying I have nothing in the drive.

I have two DVD burners one ASUS(ide) and the other Pioneer(sata) and when I go into device manager it has yellow exclaimation mark next to them both, but they are not visible on my network drives only one is and it says it is a CD drive.

I think it is saying that the drivers are not installed, can anyone shed some light please

    That's usually the case.

I (and others) have experienced some unexplained changes after a recent Windows/Microsoft update, which your issue may be related to.

Actually now that you mention that, you are spot on, because I just updated all the recent updates two days ago..... Mmmmmm

So to fix I should ..... I have tried to load drivers but it wont recognise the drives....

maybe I should do a restore????

    Thx MTV

    EDIT,

Did a restore but problem still exists....

I had to disconnect one drive completely, re-boot PC, shut down, reconnect drive, re boot and then it was "seen".

uninstall them both and do a reboot, let windows find them again.

I too had some really strange issues with windows updates, so I uninstalled latest updates and blocked automatic updates, ive found recent updates have done nothing but bloat and near stall my PC
