Why is it so ?? Wafer or STB problem ?

Hi all,

still trying to sort out my mate who is 10 hours away from me. He has full strength and quality, is NOT getting any error messages like "scrambled etc".
The setup has been working for a long time but now he dosnt get any pictures or sound but can still get subtitles. Im talking Aurora here. I forgot to ask whether he is able to get the unencrypted or are they all gone.

The card is working fine in another stb. It is a Topfield 3000, do the boxes just die like that ?

Hi waddpsw,

The fact that the card works okay in another box tends to point to an issue with the topfield /card combo rather than the card itself, having said that it may be a compatabilty issue between these 2 items or even the fact that the aurora keys have changed lately that has put the toppy off. It would be good to hear if he is getting the unencrypted stuff.

P.S
yes boxes can fail but that problem doesn't sound electrical.

My 2 cents worth.

maybe a issue with the cam what cam is he running in the topfeild and does he have access to another to try

check if the topfield has latest firmware.

try another cam, or update the current one.

try a card with different software.

Standard cam that comes with the Topfield, he wouldnt have changed that at all.

Ill find out what cam it is anyway, thanks for the thoughts

Just spoke to him and unencrypted channels are fine. Encrypted channels have no error messages, no picture or sound but has subtitles/txt
