    Default Optus Closing Services

    I have heard that optus will be shutting down there Cable TV network next year, has anyone else heard this or is the person that told me this talking crap? I cant seem to find any info on this subject.

    they don't make money from it, so they are probably not taking on anymore new customers. When anyone wants HD they'll prolly get bumbed to foxtel.

    I know they stopped taking on new subcriptions a few months ago, and with anti-cs cards on the way there could be so merit to the claim. If dumping was in the pipeline then Im sure they would do this rather that pay the cost of issuing new cards to everyone. I would think they would flip everyone on to Fox as Optus is pretty much fox restreamed anyway.

    How can they stop cs? does everyone have to get these cards?

    That would be that plan of attack. It would take some time but they have done it in Europe before. I think a CS measure would actually reduce the income of F*x. Most people doing the cheapo CS setup would not pay $110 a month for the works. They would just go FTA or select. If people get a platinum to share then thats extra money for the provider. Once CS stops they will stop paying the $110 and disconnect.
