G'Day Cobber,
You don't make it easy.
To the best of my knowledge, only fox cards are used in 3rd party boxes.
Methinks you should be clearer what box you are using.
Then, I'm sure there will be many able to help you.

Hi All,
Long time reader second time poster. I have searched alot about austar and know they changed "modified" there irdeto encryption system and cant decode it currently. however there have been a few posts that say that it isnt so now. but dont provide anymore info.
I dont want to do anything doggy, I really dont want to use a crappy mystar box with it's 80's interface and limitations.
I have been experimenting with newcs and acamd, the output from newcs says it is decrypting ok but all i get is a blank screen. I have a v5.3 card
If anyone can help me out I would be happy to donate to them or the forum

Well, 80's interface or not, the 'QUALITY' of Austars Programs is crap and having it in HD wont improve it.
I must admit I havent tried to for some time but I was under the impression that both the Card and the STB are now mated and wont work in ANY other than the designated STB, be it Austar or 3rd party STB.
I could not see the value in paying extra for HD when the programs shown were crap on a CRT or in SD.
Maybe sports but if I want Mud and Blood, I just wait for closing time and see it free.
Running windows media centre. newcs is 1.67. Acamd. Tuner Card is a Twinhan Mantis.
I can get EXPO etc. fine. So the setup itself is correct.
When changing the channels newcs reports [ 01:55:06 ] [ Newcamd ] ECM -> TUNER (OK)
The whole point of this is to rule out the standard STB and have one box to play tv/movies/music to every room of the house. which it currently does by passing stb svideo out to an analog card HVR1300 and changes channel via a MS Blaster. Every bedroom has an xbox 360. And this all works just fine.
Just want a way out of using the STB and get better quality and maybe adding A second tuner.
Gordon,
Yep I agree, most of it is garbage. Is there a way to use the <boxkey> paramiter with austar?
I was referring to these posts
I was under the impression that the older austar cards work in the Mediastar 9100 but don't take my word for it..
* Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by Alien, a Terminator, and the Predator.
5.3 cards use an encrypted camkey and also the changes in the stream prevent any provider card working in other boxes. There are working s/w around just all private non public. But a lot of people are now sharing these around that they should not have. I am looking forward to a change to watch all sub cards go down and return to provider boxes LOL. it will bring excitement to the forums again.
Hey Davo
You may not realise it but genuine people come to this forum looking for solutions and help so they can use there own boxs and gear.
If your not here to offer help or solutions, but criticize others why come here???
I must be under the wrong impression of this place.

in no way did i Flame this thread starter...
I told him it cant be done unless he had any non private stuff.
Woah,
Didnt mean to start something here. To start off this has been a great forum, I have learnt alot about sat-tech just from reading posts. enough so that I can help people on other forums. And majority of the time I believe that that is what tech forums are about knowledge and sharing, so either way I will be donating to the site. As for the austar stuff whoever worked it out kudo's to them. If it is private then so be it. I will just wait until someone comes up with a way around it, or myself. But at least I know it can be done
Davo, thanks for the info. give's me something to research
