Hey, I just thought I would post a couple of pics caused by golf ball size hail stones to my 3m mesh dish.
Does anybody know if you can buy replacement mesh panels. It is a STRONG dish.
Cheers

Obviously not that "strong" roflmao
Impressive damage though.
You may be able to buy new panels . Most shops would rather sell a complete dish.
Or have a go at repairing the mesh..
Visit a place that makes screen doors and ask for some mesh thats the same pitch (hole size) or finer as whats on your dish.
farrk me, sorry to see that happen dude....makes methink twice about getting a mesh dish now...
Democracy & Ignorance = A Winning Combination
With the severity of the impact, the frame may have been distorted as well.
Replacement panels (if available) would probably cost more than a complete new dish.
osci... even a solid dish would have sustained severe damage, having the surface pock-marked/dented.
You just need to look at the damage done to cars to see the effect.
I'm expecting to have a flood (pardon the pun) of calls about sat dish/LNB damage soon..
No doubt even those lucky enough not to have sustained damage may have had dishes moved out of alignment.

That dish is Swiss cheese. LOL
Strong Aust use to hold onto damaged dishes to sell for damage repair, if one petal was damaged they could still sell the other 3 but in your case a new dish would work out cheaper.
Maybe ask them for a price minus the polar mount as your old one is OK but your dish was rooted.

Thanks for the thoughts, I reckon the idea of keeping my polar mount and just buying a dish is the way to go.
OUCH!!! That hail must have hurt! I don't think I've ever seen a dish reduced to shreds like that. I agree with MTV that there is going to be a mad rush of work for installers. Anyway, I also agree that a new dish is in order, but that still wouldn't keep me from experimenting with chicken wire and aluminium foil or sheeting. Who knows, if it doesn't work for TV, you can still use it to cook some snags on a sunny day!
OC
Well, I must consider myself lucky! My 3M Paraclipse is full of pock marks following the hail storm, but no holes!
Different story with my car though...new windscreen and bonnet with pock marks.
Must be lots more with damaged dishes
