New Arts Channel launches April 1st?

This is to replace Ovation, which is shutting down.

I don't think the new channel is part of the basic lineup.

Ovation isn't shutting down foxtel is just nolonger offering it. you have to subscribe to it diretly like senata.

It's still going to be on Select & Optus, and possibly going back up on Austar on a similar basis to it's destination on Foxtel ($9.95 per month add-on)

According to the April Austar magazine, STVDIO (SBS) on ch 132 is NOT included in the basic/starter package but one of the 'General Entertainment Options'.
Ovation was also only available as a 'G.E' option.
It was announced here in the Forums late last year Both Austar and Foxtel were dropping Ovation and SBS was being replacing it with an 'Arts' channel.

I havent looked to see what will be screened on this 'New' channel yet.

My wife thought she saw a reference to Ovation remaining or returning to Austar but she couldnt remember the details and I havent seen anything about myself.
For Austar, If you get the 'G.E' option with BBC knowledge/Crime Invt/Bio/History etc,then you will get 'STVDIO'

Some people may not be aware it's a part of the Selectv package for no extra charge.

For current Austar customers it will cost $6 a month and it will be billed through your current monthly account.
There is no mention in the subscription form that this is a 'One Off' or Special' limited offer so I read that this will be the regular fee to receive Ovation.
