The price hike is a double-whammy for those Selectv subscribers, whose 12 month Foxtel 'takeover deal' expired recently, reverting back to standard Foxtel package pricing, only now to be hit with an additional increase.

It will be interesting to see what incentives Foxtel will offer to retain subscribers calling to cancel their subscriptions.

Now we are paying even more to watch hose-reel and funeral/life insurance advertisements.

What pisses me off is that the vast majority of their programming costs are in $US, so with the appreciation in the $A over the last 12 months, we should be getting a reduction as their programming costs must have dropped in $A terms.
