| Senior Member | version 2 cards should be fine with just about anything i haven,t tested a v2 card but one would assume it would work as for the softcam just about all of them will work with any version its only the I1 stuff thats not supported by many softcams anymore as its being phased out in most parts of the world |

| Premium Member | just saw the Optus advise, typically I am 4 days late finding out, channels all 'NO RIGHTS' but after the usual praying to God Humax and card now appear ok. I see on the Yahoo TV guide for 'NSW Regional and Remote' they list ABC 2 and SBS news but from the comments above we dont have them as yet (if ever?). |

If you really want HD ABC & SBS, widescreen of course, & have an HD Capable IRD (I guess they're available, at a price), just swing your dish around a few degrees east, to look at D1. You can get the ABC & SBS footprints for their digital transmitter distribution, unencrypted, as opposed to the analogue footprints off C1 (which, oddly, are encrypted). I have an 85cm offset & that's good enough most of the time, for the SD channels. I don't have an HD IRD, so can't vouch for the quality of these.

Hi, I've got a legit V5 in a Strong SRT480011 with factory f/w, am getting all ABC & SBS footprints, have lost 7 Central after requesting authorisation for the WA services WIN & GWN, as I would expect, but still have Imparja, which I shouldn't have. Despite numerous attempts by Optus to re-authorise my card, over past 5 days, apart from their scheduled downloads, I am still not getting WIN or GWN. They've now suggested I talk to Strong. I did have a problem with the initial authorisation 3 months ago, when running dodgy f/w, but ok once back to original. Is anyone else with an old Strong with similar problems?

Strongs aren't Irdeto certified so a cam may be the only answer. Leroy

| Senior Member | good ol strongs always been a heap of snot as far as i,m concerned i havent used them in years and i,m glad. i only ever used 2 of them to begin with and didn,t like them and then a month after i sold them aurora did and upgrade and low and behold then sbs never worked again on them and that was back in 2000(and that model box only took a cam so had the legit irdeto one in it ) and reading the forums now on upgrade this use a usb stick for that use a purple cam blah blah blah i,m glad i dont use them as with the amount of customers i,ve sold sat boxes too the amount of time i would have to spend fixing them would be huge and by now i would have customers saying listen the things a heap of shit and i want my money back or i just shelled out for this box and now your telling me to get aurora i have to now purchase a cam at $150.00 you can pack it all up and take it back not to mention the hours of my time retrieving and upgrading them and i bet strong doesn,t offer to shell out for lost wages while my guys run round collect them all and i sit here all day in front of my computer upgrading them i,m glad i made up my mind back in 98 to use humax and stuck with them ever since as they have saved me no end of trouble |

Funny that, just got off the phone to Strong & guess what they suggested - either New CAM (am using a blue 901633 Rev 1.2 card, Ver2.06 s/ware) for about $100, or New IRD Model 4653X for $80. They say the CAM is the problem, but....??. I have also tried the card in a mate's SRT4820, but still no go.
