Default Irish question

Hey guys,
I’m living in Ireland and the rain has finally made me decide to move to another country.
I’m 31 years old and I’ve worked in the security industry for about 12 years.
I’ve worked on various alarm, CCTV, Access control, gate automation, and fire systems and I haven’t fallen off a ladder as yet!
I have two Australian friends living here who are constantly trying to get rid of me, telling me I should pack up and go.
Is it difficult to find work in the trade for a non resident?
I know a work permit has to be obtained and some kind of police check.
We don’t have any formally recognised trade in the industry, its only come in this year. Would this be a big problem?
Is a European driving licence adequate or would I have to sit a test over.

Anyway thanks for reading this and I hope you can give me some pointers.
Cheers.

Cool

From memory you will need at least a residence visa for a NSW licence

If it hasn't changed:
You can use your euro license for 3 months.
then you will need a NSW one.
Or get an international i think they are good for a year.

But i would check it out first.

cheers guys,
i guess i'd have to start familiarising myself with the products that you use.
Tecom seems to be a popular guy. similar i think to Europlex 3G.
i guess there all kinda similar once you get into them huh?
thanks again for the feedback.

hate to rain on your parade (pun intended) but winter has just finished (in theory) here. but there was plenty of rain and cold.. (never been to Ireland) and here is not a cold as scotland (which I have been too) so depending on what part of .AU you are thinking about moving too/working in might be a good idea to give some thought. you probably already know the further north you go in .AU the hotter it gets, or west in W.A but this year east coast was wet wet wet

best of luck but.
