Home Security System with Media Center

Hi all,

I'm planning to buy and install (DIY) a security system and connect it to my Vista Media Center. (This computer is always turned on.)
It would be nice if it integrates with Media Center but it is not a requirement.
I'm new to security systems so feel free to advice in what to look for (or look out for) in a Security System

I know HAI panels integrate with media center and also provides an automation platform too.

maybe them cheap PICO (ebay$11) cards you buy from ozvision for $ 360 would be a start

or an ebay complete cctv special
