Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Hi Guys i am considering adding a pir to an existing system to cover an adjacent room. is it as simple as just wiring one in parallel with an existing pir? or is it a bit more complex than that? cheers lee |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | if you want to add an extra pir and conect it to an existing pir, the power wires (red + black) are connected parrallel, and the zone wires, ( blue + white ) are connected in series. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | if you have spare zones on your alarm , its best to run a new cable to the alarm box and connect the new pir to a new separate zone. do you know what brand/model alarm system you have? |

Rep Power: 23 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If the zones with resistors have no other cables on them then they are unused (if there are cables on them they may be used for smoke detectors) If they are the last couple of zones ( eg 7 or 8 etc ) they are probably programmed as instant. If this is suitable then it is just a matter of cabling up a PIR to them & no need for any programming
