| Junior Member | Hi, My daughter is having trouble with her alarm. She has to enter the code twice to arm and twice to disarm. It is a NX4. There are no faults showing on the keypad. Is there a solution to fixing this easily? Basically when she puts in her code to arm the system it beeps rapidly, then she enters her code again and the arm light comes on and then it beeps normaly with the exit delay. Same thing when she disarms the alarm. She puts her code in and it beeps rapidly and it is still armed, then she puts her code in again and disarms and stops beeping. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Is the power light flashing. If so it means it has a low battery and the keypad is beeping at arming and disarming because of low battery fault which is why you need to do it twice. Once for arming or disarming and once to acknowledge the fault. |

| Junior Member | Okay, the Powe light is flashing. Next question - what costs are involved for replacing the battery? She is in the Underdale area (South Australia). |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | hi, just go to dicksmith electronics and buy a ( 12volt 7amp SLA ) alarm battery for around $40 and replace it yourself. no special training required! the battery is inside the metal box. open it up, ( you may have to unscrew couple of screws) remove old battery from the battery clips and connect the new battery. just make sure you connect the red cable to the red battery terminal and black cable to black battery terminal. close panel box. all done and you saved yourself a $130 service call, plus $60 for the battery!!! |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | hi NEB400, the NX4 has a 12v 4amp battery inside. the price of a 4amp battery is the same as a 7amp battery. the 7amp battery will last nearly twice as long though, compared to the 4amp. (in regards to backup power). you just have to fit the battery upright,(on its side) so it can fit in the box. which is no problem as it is a sealed lead acid battery. hope this helps cheers Last edited by ZadeMan; 29-06-09 at 10:25 PM. Reason: more info -,(on its side) |
