Default Ye Old EDM & Signature Pad

    Hi All
Yeh I Know Newb Asking for Gimmie Gimmie...
Just moved into a Little Factory
with a old Alarm system ..Im Asuming it was a Monitored Unit from
Signature, key pad Has Signature Security on it
I was told the last time it was on was Approx 10 years ago
I had hell trying to get the phone line connected because telstra had no idea
what the phone number was before & couldnt find the address on there data base
Anyway The panel is a EDM 822 Dated 1998
Can anyone help me with a instaler Manuel ?
or am I wasting my time as the Panel is locked out anyway?

    Thanks in advance

    Cool

If it is a Signature then it is probably locked out. If you have no codes & can't use it anyway then try this. Assuming that the system has been depowered, open up the control box & remove the battery which will need replacing. Connect one lead to the battery & then hold down the default button ( little black push button to the left of centre at top of circuit board) while you connect the other battery lead. This will default the panel to factory settings. enter 1234Away & you will get into programming. enter 960away to exit programming. If you get this far then chase up a programming manual to reprogram the panel , it's not that hard. If you want monitoring or ring a mobile then you may be better off getting a tech in

THis is just the User Default code, Still could be locked out of installer Menu... Yes?
or Does the Default reset Change that as well ?

Most companies will programme the unit for free if you go with back to base monitoring, if no monitoring, will prob cost $150 ish

If you got into programming with 1234 then the entire panel is back to factory default. You say the panel is an 822. Could that be an 862 maybe or an 844 ? Never heard of an 822

Yep its a 862 Panel , was hard to read
Ive found some bits & bobs on programing this Panel.
had a play with it yesturday evening.
it only has 2 Pir Detectors
    ZOne 1 is Delay (entry)
    ZOne 2 is handover

    After Setting it to on
    Holding the away button
it comes on , exit delay, works & entry
But when it is triggered the key pad shows that it has gone off
But no siren Indoor or Out door go off..nor the light?

Ive tested the Indoor Piezo . it works

Also i asume the Battery will need replacing? 10 years old
THe Pad is showing Power & showing error & zone 7 & 8 Light up
Flashing also the other unused zones are showing on the Pad
Im asuming its the battery, I Havent tested the holding Voltage from the battery as yet.
It is holding some charge ..How long do they normaly take to fuly charge?

Not a easy task to program with out a Manuel LOL

    Cool

Zone 7 & 8 are up because they are 24hr zones by default. They will need to be disabled in programming or sealed with resistors on th i/p terminals. The sirens are unlikely to work with a stuffed battery. The battery won't recharge to a suitable level if its been 10yrs since working - get a new one. If you want help with programming then PM me.

    Many Thanks to intelliGEORGE
    For the Quick reference Guide

Yes Still need to get a new battery , Holds some charge ,,alarm goes off but stops after a while & error comes up (battery)

THe Telstra Man cut the Alarm phone wires from the socket when he connected the new phone service (why I Have no idea)
Maybe for another service call visit???

Anyway after having a blond Moment (or Two).... Ive worked it out..
I Must say it is a Very Very easy Panel to program Once you have a referance guide to go through.

Works 100% (besides needing a new battery) set up to Call 3 different moblie numbers

Thanks you to everyone for there imput
    Thanks again to intelliGEORGE
& watchdog For the inital unlock Code to see if it was to be junked or Not

Whats the Best place to get a good quality battery?

Any local Jaycar, DSE or Tandy would stock a 12v 7aH SLA battery.
